Who plays who at EUROPEADA 2020? We will find it out on Saturday

The 31 football teams representing national minorities from all over Europe at next year’s EUROPEADA will finally know their adversaries in the group stages on Saturday, 16 November 2019. FUEN’s European football championship of the autochthonous, national minorities, the EUROPEADA 2020 will take place on 20-28 June 2020 and it will be hosted by the Carinthian Slovenes. More...

EUROPEADA 2020: this is going to be 24-7 fun!

Two minorities celebrating a 100 year jubilee will open next year’s EUROPEADA in Carinthia, Austria: the host Team Koroska (Carinthian Slovenes) will face Team Nordschleswig (Germans from Denmark) on the opening day of the European football championship of national minorities. At the request of the EC the MSPI signatures will be submitted in early 2020

At the request of the European Commission’s ECI Team, the statements of support for the Minority SafePack Initiative will be submitted to the Commission in the first part of 2020 instead of the previously announced 3 December 2019. The request to postpone comes as the new European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen is not yet in place and a transitional period for taking office will also be needed for the new Commission. FUEN invites for a dialogue for a stable future in Kyiv

The project’s aim is to get first-hand reports on the current situation of minorities regarding education rights, the use of mother language, access to media and integration in the society and identifying ways of helping them achieving their goals. The legislative proposals of the MSPI were presented in the European Parliament

The representatives of the international expert group of FUEN presented on Thursday, 28 November 2019 the main elements of the legislative proposals based on the Minority SafePack Initiative in the European Parliament. These proposals, presented at the informal meeting of the Minority Intergroup of the EP, are going to be handed in to the new European Commission alongside the 1,128,385 authenticated statements in the first part of 2020. Slavic member organisations of the FUEN meet for their 22nd Annual Seminar in Carinthia / Koroška

The 22^nd Annual Seminar of the Working Group of Slavic Minorities inside the FUEN takes place this week in Carinthia/Koroška, Austria.
