EQUIP: Discussing challenges and sharing good practice strategies

ANOSR: Double grants and free transportation for Romanian students

ESU OnlineFollowing the request from the National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR), the Romanian Government adopted an emergency ordinance according to which the student scholarships fund is increased by 142,16%. VSS-UNES-USU: Swiss students fight to improve university access for refugees

  3. Strengthen the Union between the four nations of the United Kingdom
  4. Maintain the Common Travel Area with Ireland
  5. Brexit must mean control of the number of people who come to Britain from Europe
  6. Rights for EU nationals in Britain and British nationals in the EU
  7. Protect workers’ rights
  8. Free trade with European markets through a free trade agreement
  9. New trade agreements with other countries
  10. The best place for science and innovation
  11. Co-operation in the fight against crime and terrorism
  12. A smooth, orderly Brexit

Numeracy counts: UIL and University of Hamburg to examine adults’ everyday use of numeracy skills

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), through its action research project to measure learning outcomes for literacy programme participants (RAMAAA - Recherche Action: Mesure des apprentissages des bénéficiaires des programmes d’alphabétisation), will use the data collected in the second phase of the project, to evaluate everyday numeracy competencies and practices of adults in day-to-day life. Sixteen cities to receive the UNESCO Learning City Award 2017

16 cities from around the globe will receive the UNESCO Learning City Award this year. The award will be conferred on the cities during the third International Conference on Learning Cities in Cork, Ireland, which will take place from 18 to 20 September 2017. The cities were selected by an international jury for the outstanding progress made in promoting education and lifelong learning in their local communities.
The 2017 awardees are: Bristol (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), Câmara de Lobos (Portugal), Contagem (Brazil), Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Giza (Egypt), Hangzhou (China), Larissa (Greece), Limerick (Ireland), Mayo-Baléo (Cameroon), N’Zérékoré (Guinea), Okayama (Japan), Pécs (Hungary), Surabaya (Indonesia), Suwon (Republic of Korea), Tunis (Tunisia), Villa María (Argentina).
