Tuition fees: studying the bottom line

It would be nice to live in a world where no complaint is ever necessary – but sometimes a rise in complaints is a healthy sign of growing consumer power. Take higher education, where a freedom of information request reveals that more than 20,000 students paying tuition fees have expressed dissatisfaction in the past year. That represents a jump of 10 per cent, and possibly shows that as the cost of education has gone up, so too have the expectations of undergraduates. Read more...
