Violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or sex characteristics (SOGIEC-based violence) is rooted in cultural norms and expectations about gender and gender roles. Terrorist attack in Strasbourg

This is a sad morning. As we know, three people have been killed and a dozen injured as a result of last night’s attack in the heart of our City. Our condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Our sympathies go to the citizens of Strasbourg and we offer our solidarity to our host nation France and to this great city. Let me express my full support for the French authorities, who continue to do all they can to protect the people who live here, the international community and the citizens from across Europe that come to visit this historic place.
