eucen's chapter has been written by Prof. Françoise de Viron, current President of eucen, and Pat Davies, consultant in higher education and lifelong learning and past eucen’s Executive Secretary and Projects Director. The eucen resources and eLearning platform is a space with modules or courses to help professionals in the area of ULLL (i.e. directors of centers, practitioners, academics, researchers, officers, etc) to develop their profession.
The main objective of eucen for creating this platform is to give tools to members of the network that can help them improve their ULLL profession or can help them offering to colleagues and employees targeted staff development online courses, directly connected to the area and nature of their jobs. The eucen observatory on Lifelong Learning was developed in 2008-2009 by eucen with initial support from the DG Education and Culture, to enhance the lifelong learning policies of the European Commission, with the aim of developing Lifelong Learning at European level.
The objectives are to provide an understanding of the major European reforms that are taking place in Higher Education concerning Lifelong Learning. The observatory provides information on the major European Policies and three Processes for University Lifelong Learning:
-The Lisbon Process
-The Bologna Process
-The Copenhagen Process
