QAA publishes revised Subject Benchmark Statements
QAA has published revised Subject Benchmark Statements for Law, Economics, Osteopathy, and Dance, Drama and Performance that form part of the 2013-16 review.
Subject Benchmark Statements form part of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. They set out expectations about standards of degrees in a range of subject areas, describing what gives a discipline its coherence and identity, and defining what can be expected of a graduate in terms of the abilities and skills needed to develop understanding or competence in the subject. QAA reviews Subject Benchmark Statements regularly to ensure that they remain current and useful. More...

Qui peut bénéficier du grade de licence ?
Les diplômes sanctionnant une formation de 1er cycle de l'enseignement supérieur conduisent à l'attribution du grade de licence qui permet de faire valoir une certification pour la poursuite d'études en master et dans le cadre d'une mobilité internationale.
Ce grade est aussi conféré de plein droit aux titulaires d'un diplôme de licence, d'une licence professionnelle, des diplômes de formation générale en sciences médicales, en sciences pharmaceutiques, en sciences odontologiques et en sciences maïeutiques ou relevant du code de la santé publique (art. D. 636-69 à 72), du diplôme d'études en architecture, du diplôme de l'Ecole militaire interarmes (art. D. 675-19 et 20), du diplôme d'élève pilote de ligne de l'Ecole nationale de l'aviation civile et des diplômes délivrés par l'université Paris-Dauphine (voir la liste) et l'Université de recherche Paris sciences et lettres - PSL Research University (voir la liste).
Ces diplômes et titres conduisent à conférer le grade de licence, y compris lorsqu'il a été fait application de la procédure de VAE.

Conference: quality assurance of cross-border higher education, 5-6 November 2015, Paris (France)
Registration is open for the conference on quality assurance of cross-border higher education, taking place on 5-6 November in Paris, France. The event will bring together professionals working in the field of higher education from Europe, the Gulf, and Asia-Pacific region to discuss the growing phenomenon of cross-border higher education and its quality assurance.
The conference will also discuss issues related to recognition and ways to build reciprocal trust and better coordination of education provision across borders. A draft programme and registration information are available here.
The conference is co-organised by ENQA (the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and HCERES (the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, France) and it is the final conference of the project “Quality Assurance of Cross-border Higher Education – QACHE”, supported by the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union. The HUMANE Network is organising a seminar on “Quality Management, Accreditation, Institutional Ranking and League Tables: Policy trends and institutional responses” at Université Toulouse 1 from 25 to 26 September 2015.
The programme will deal with different topics – what constitutes a world class university, real utility of quality assessment regimes and accreditation systems, and using league table and ranking systems as measures of quality.
