Dozens of new Open Distance and eLearning Centres for Africa

The African Virtual University (AVU), in partnership with the African Development Bank, is launching 29 Open Distance and eLearning Centres in 21 African countries over the next seven months.
This is designed to provide African learners with greater access to higher education opportunities.
The centres will strengthen AVU's network, and will be located in 27 institutions across Africa. The first launch took place at the Open University of Sudan on 11 August 2014. Subsequent launches will take place over the next seven months until early 2015. More...

Ankit Khandelwal’s dream is as simple as it is complex; become a world business leader within 10 to 15 years.
After discovering massive open online courses (MOOCs) and their potential for self development, Ankit designed the ‘envisioning a 21st century global manager’ project after two months of brain-storming in early 2012.

Un décret du 20 août 2014 précise les mentions nécessaires à la description des moyens d’encadrement des FOAD (formations ouvertes ou à distance) et les modalités selon lesquelles la personne qui suit une formation de ce type peut recourir à une assistance. Il précise en outre les justificatifs à prendre en compte pour établir l’assiduité d’une personne lors d’une formation à distance.

Formations ouvertes ou à distance (FOAD) : un premier décret d'application de la loi du 5 mars 2014

Publié au journal officiel du 22 août, le premier décret d'application de la loi du 5 mars 2014 concerne les organismes de formation professionnelle continue qui organisent des séquences de formation ouvertes ou à distance.
Ce décret n°2014-935 du 20 août précise les mentions nécessaires à la description des moyens d'encadrement de ces formations ouvertes ou à distance et les modalités selon lesquelles la personne qui suit une formation de ce type peut recourir à une assistance.
Il précise également les justificatifs à prendre en compte pour établir l'assiduité d'une personne lors d'une formation à distance.

Publication du décret n° 2014-935 du 20 août 2014 relatif aux formations ouvertes ou à distance
« Publics concernés : les organismes dispensateurs de formation professionnelle continue.
Objet : mise en œuvre des actions de formation qui se déroulent en tout ou partie à distance et détermination des justificatifs permettant d'établir l'assiduité d'un stagiaire.
Entrée en vigueur : le décret entre en vigueur le lendemain de sa publication.
Notice : ce décret a pour objet de préciser les mentions nécessaires à la description des moyens d'encadrement des formations ouvertes ou à distance et les modalités selon lesquelles la personne qui suit une formation de ce type peut recourir à une assistance.
Il précise en outre les justificatifs à prendre en compte pour établir l'assiduité d'une personne lors d'une formation à distance…. »
