The U.S. is a long-time favourite but Dubai and Australia are now attracting attention
While China tops in sending students to the U.S. for higher studies, contributing nearly 25 per cent of students of international origin studying in the U.S. (according to the 2012 Open Doors Survey), India comes second at 13 per cent. But this figure has seen a slight decline of 3.5 per cent while the Chinese figures have clearly gone up by a large margin of 23.1 per cent.
The reasons for this decline could be many. But the Green Card and residency lure is a major factor that is still pulling students to the U.S. at a time when many other students are looking for emerging higher education destinations such as Dubai. Though the U.K. has also been preferred by students, they are now making choices of higher education based on whether they would land jobs in that country and the allied aspects of acceptance and diverse international presence. By Tom Brennan. When she graduated from California’s Hasting College of Law in 2011, Delida Wong knew she would be facing a tough job market at home. So she set her eyes on Beijing instead.
"I didn’t even bother applying to jobs in the States," she recalls.
Wong joined a small but increasing number of young American law graduates drawn to China by a sense of adventure but also a belief that the fast-growing economy offers career opportunities not available to them in the United States.
These lawyers, who come to China without jobs, are distinct from those lawyers who are relocated there by international firms. If anything, the latter, who enjoy U.S.–level salaries and sometimes generous expatriate packages, represent what the former are hoping to achieve in China. Business Secretary Vince Cable and universities minister David Willetts travel to the emerging economies of Brazil, Mexico and Colombia on Monday.
UK universities have seen big falls in the number of students coming from countries such as India, which have traditionally been the biggest players.

Daraus geht hervor, dass sich rund 95.000 Studenten für eine Hochschul- bzw. By Christine F. Herrera. As 111 state colleges and universities were set to observe a nationwide moratorium on tuition increases this year, student and youth groups on Sunday urged the 451 of the 1,604 private schools to follow suit.
Kabataan, League of Filipino Students and the National Union of Students of the Philippines and other youth organizations demanded that the Commission on Higher Education reject the applications of 451 private schools for a 5 percent to 10 percent increase in tuition.
At the same time, the groups welcomed the announcement of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges to impose a nationwide tuition hike moratorium for the incoming school year, including those that already approved increases for this year. Read more...

However, what he meant under "traditions" sometimes clearly contradicts the principles of education accepted elsewhere in Europe.
The system of manual control, absence of real self-governance, political pressure on students and universities plague the atmosphere of educational freedom in the geographic heart of Europe.
Evident Lack of Academic Freedoms
Belarus remains the only European state outside of the Bologna system. This gap complicates recognition of Belarusian academic degrees and slows down the Belarusian-European academic exchanges. By Dezarae Yoder. With Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., submitting a 3.6 percent increase in classified pay as a part of his budget plan, state schools must formulate ways to fund these increases.
“We came up with a 3.1 percent salary pool,” CU President Bruce Benson stated April 15 at Berger Hall during a town hall-style meeting.
“It costs a lot more to replace those good people than it does to keep them on with a little more salary increase.”
Benson spoke of the special Board of Regents meeting held earlier this month.
“They approved all of our tuition and fees that we recommended to them,” Benson stated.
CU Regents endorsed a 6 percent increase in tuition rates for UCCS students, both undergraduate and graduate resident students. Non-resident students will see a 4 percent tuition increase coming into effect next fall. Read more...

Ce dispositif media complète la campagne hors-media qui a débuté le 18 mars avec l'ouverture du site www.contrat-generation.gouv.fr, où les nombreux supports pédagogiques qui ont été développés afin d’expliquer en détail  le contrat de génération sont également disponibles.
Cette campagne vise trois objectifs:
    * inciter les entreprises à embaucher en CDI des jeunes arrivants sur le marché du travail,
    * augmenter le taux d’emploi des seniors,
    * accompagner et favoriser le renouvellement des compétences en entreprise, à travers la transmission des savoirs et des compétences.
