Signature du marché d'acquisition de l'un des supercalculateurs les plus puissants d'Europe - 14 petaflops /s

Screenshot-2018-4-21 Journal de mise en ligne - ESR enseignementsup-recherche gouv frInstallé début 2019 au centre de calcul IDRIS du C.N.R.S. sur le plateau de Saclay et financé par GENCI, ce supercalculateur d’une puissance de calcul supérieure à 14 petaflops /s (14 millions de milliards d’opérations par seconde) étendra les modes d’utilisation classiques du calcul à haute performance à de nouveaux usages pour l’Intelligence artificielle. Il comportera plus d’un millier de processeurs spécialisés, appelés G.P.U.
L’acquisition de ce nouveau supercalculateur s’inscrit dans le cadre de la stratégie nationale de recherche en intelligence artificielle, présentée par le gouvernement fin novembre 2018 et qui vise à faire de la France le leader européen de la recherche en intelligence artificielle. Plus...
