NEW INITIATIVE TO ACCELERATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL ACADEMIC TALENT: INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION of UNIVERSITIES & GLOBAL ACADEMY JOBS.COM JOIN FORCES Eva Egron-Polak, Secretary General of the International Association of Universities (IAU) and Dan Perrett, Co-Founder of Perrett Laver announced today the launch of a new partnership. Through GlobalAcademyJobs.com (GAJ) this partnership will promote the development of global academic talent especially in emerging economies. GAJ is a leading global recruitment website for all academics, from doctoral candidates to Vice Chancellors. Egron-Polak states “IAU represents more than 600 member institutions worldwide that all search for academic talent, a search now made much easier by GlobalAcademyJobs. I believe GAJ is a very practical, easy-to-use and affordable recruitment solution that will help our members”. Perrett comments “GAJ has been built by universities for universities.
The functionality and reach of the site will continually be improved by academic practitioners whose institutions share in revenues generated. We will through this partnership be able to provide IAU member’s deep discounts whilst at the same time create income for IAU itself”. GAJ is global in focus in recognition that academic talent is grown partly through international exchange and experience: “Better and more connected academics improves higher education which correlates to a great many social benefits, amongst them a richer and deeper cultural life, economic growth, and important discoveries in the pursuit of peace, sustainability and prosperity” states Egron-Polak. IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organizations from some 120 countries for reflection and action on common concerns.
