Media Release: Bluestocking Week highlights barriers still to women’s equality

Women now constitute almost 60% of successful undergraduate and postgraduate course completions, yet gender segregation across educational fields remains stark. 'Wear it Purple' Day, Friday 31 August

The day began after American university student Tyler Clemeti jumped to his death from a bridge in 2010 after being 'outed' by his roommate. A webcam recording of Tyler and another male student was shared without his knowledge or consent.

EUA condemns Hungarian government plan to ban gender studies

The Hungarian government has announced plans to eliminate gender studies from the country’s list of accredited university study programmes. Academics draft hate crime bill for minorities

LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) campaigners called on the Irish government last Wednesday to make hate crimes illegal following a wave of violent attacks on the gay community.
