http://www.tonybates.ca/wp-content/uploads/asssociates.jpgBy . I have found myself being asked by the media to comment on all these, but underlying each of my responses has been my considerable unease about the gap between some of the claims and the reality on the ground, and above all not knowing the possible motives behind some of the developments we have been seeing. OECD/Canada/Alberta Conference on E-Learning in Post-Secondary Education: Policies, Practices, and Research

By Stephen Downes - Stephen's Web. OECD/Canada/Alberta Conference on E-Learning in Post-Secondary Education: Policies, Practices, and Research
Presentations are now available online from this recent conference. Some really good stuff here (and some that is disappointing). The rest were, well, disappointing. More...

By Stephen Downes - Stephen's Web.
Michelle M. Kazmer: Cats in the Classroom: Online Learning in Hybrid Space, First Monday September 1, 2005

Drawing on student comments, the author offers some preliminary reflections on how the computing environment shapes the online experience. More...
