Overview
UCAS, Universities UK and the UK HE International Unit are offering institutions a unique opportunity to share best practice and examine ways in which shared services can help institutions achieve their Transnational Education (TNE) goals, whilst debating the future shape of UK TNE.
TNE has grown significantly over the past few years, becoming an established part of UK institutions’ internationalisation and recruitment strategies. With around 5,000 TNE courses offered by UK institutions and an estimate that TNE will become the largest mode of international education by 2020, there has still been little debate about a shared approach to promoting UK TNE, or the development of shared services for the sector.
Features of the one-day conference include:

mLearn extends the theory and practice of learning and mobility in converging technological environments. This includes applications of innovative mobile and ubiquitous technologies for learning. It covers new educational and technological methods and concepts for supporting formal and informal learning, as well as seamless learning across contexts, and transitions between different types of learning.
mLearn was the first conference on Mobile Learning. After more than 11 years mLearn is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field. “Leveraging the Power of Open and Distance Education for Building a Divergent Asia –Today's Solutions and Tomorrow's Vision”
To meet the needs of education for both developed and developing countries is a concurrent great challenge. In this direction Open Distance Learning System can play a vital role due to its cost effectiveness, flexibility and with no restriction of age or the workplace. Open Distance Learning mode of education can further be strengthened by integrating the innovative technologies and all varities of the available media to reach its students in an effective manner in the outreach/remote areas. The main theme of the conference is to improve the power of ODL to address the divergent Asia's problems and solutions.
The conference will be a platform for the ODL experts and others to use the power of ODL system to address the developed and developing countries problems of literacy, education for all, quality education, use of teaching-learning technologies and also to plan for the future divergent Asia. 1. This letter provides an update on the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) following the June 2013 Spending Review announcement (note 1), which outlined the Government’s spending plans for 2015-16.

2. The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) sets the overall policy and funding level for the NSP and HEFCE has administered the fund on its behalf. In its spending review statement, the Government advised that it ‘will refocus the National Scholarship Programme to support postgraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds’ (see the HEFCE announcement).
3. Consequently, in 2015-16 the NSP will cease as an undergraduate programme. Allocations of NSP funds to institutions will continue as planned in 2013-14 (£100 million) and 2014-15 (£150 million), ensuring that support continues to be available to undergraduate student entrants in those years.
4. Institutions are urged to continue to provide clear information for students about their NSP schemes, to ensure that current and prospective higher education students are aware that NSP support is still available in 2013-14 and 2014-15. This should include information on eligibility criteria, application and/or selection and appeals processes, and how scholarships are awarded. Reprendre une formation n’est pas le seul moyen de décrocher un diplôme. Grâce à la VAE (Validation des acquis de l’expérience), il est possible d’obtenir un diplôme en mettant à profit vos savoirs acquis dans le cadre professionnel.
Le principe de la VAE est simple : il s’agit de faire valoir vos compétences - techniques, managériales ou autre - dans le cadre d’un parcours de formation diplômante ou de formation certifiante. C’est-à-dire de faire en sorte que l’expérience soit transformée en diplôme. Le diplôme visé doit bien sûr correspondre à votre profil.
Exemple : vous êtes commercial, titulaire d’un bac, et disposez d’une expérience de cinq à dix ans. Vous pouvez demander à obtenir un BTS, voire une licence professionnelle dans votre spécialité, en faisant jouer la VAE. La VAE répond également à un besoin de reconnaissance personnelle.
Comment procéder ? Il existe quelques astuces pour réussir sa démarche de VAE en 8 points clefs
Première étape : demander un dossier de VAE auprès de l’établissement (école, université). Ensuite, il s’agit de retourner ce dossier, puis de défendre votre demande devant un jury d’enseignants et de professionnels. L’objectif de cet oral est de vérifier que vous possédez les connaissances requises pour le diplôme en question.
Deux cas de figure : le jury estime que oui, et vous décrochez le diplôme. Le jury estime qu’il vous manque telle ou telle compétence : vous repassez le module en question. Toujours plus simple que de faire un diplôme dans son intégralité !
Petit bémol : la VAE est un processus de longue haleine. Le dossier de VAE est très complet, et de ce fait relativement long à boucler. Ceci explique que certains établissements proposent un accompagnement personnalisé.
Une aide que l’on ne peut que recommander vivement, notamment aux personnes qui ont quitté le système scolaire depuis longtemps, ce qui permet d’éviter les principales erreurs dans un dossier de VAE.

Le choc de simplification et la modernisation de l’action publique initiés par le gouvernement doivent conduire notre pays à lancer une politique de fusion des échelons administratifs et des intervenants en matière d’aide sociale. Si pour l’instant, les annonces du Gouvernement déçoivent et se concentrent essentiellement sur l’accélération de l’e-administration, la question des périmètres d’interventions des différents niveaux administratifs reste posée au mépris des règles de subsidiarité, ici illustré par la Fondation iFRAP à travers quatre exemples:
Le secteur recherche et innovation dont les structures éclatées emploient une masse salariale de 700 millions d’euros alors qu’une large partie de ces personnes ne travaillent pas avec les entreprises mais sont chargées d’organiser la coordination entre tous les acteurs impliqués.
