Over the last generation, it has become clear that something has gone awry in how the United States prepares its young people for life. In spite of millions of young people pursuing university education, fewer than one in three young Americans successfully attain a bachelor’s degree, while millions of good middle-skills jobs go begging because of our failure to build programs to equip young people with the skills and credentials to fill them. It has been a wet winter in Paris and the River Seine is rising fast: 2 cm, or about an inch, every hour. This will bring the Seine to a little over six metres, as measured by the Austerlitz monitoring station or, as Parisians will tell you, up to the thighs of the Le Zouave statue on the Pont de l’Alma (our photo). People who are more satisfied with democracy are also those who trust their assembly of elected representatives more. Switzerland and the Nordic countries, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, show the greatest satisfaction with democracy and highest level of trust in their parliament, whereas southern and eastern European countries such as Italy, Portugal and Slovenia trust their elected representatives less and are less satisfied with democracy overall. Le certificat d'aptitude aux fonctions de professeur de musique (CA) a été réformé en juillet 2016 (voir notre info). Une modification réglementaire redéfinit les conditions d'accès aux concours d'admission en formations initiales et continues préparatoires.
Le concours d'entrée en formation continue est ouvert aux candidats titulaires d'un DEPM, ou d'un CA, ou d'un DNSPM ou d'un diplôme validant un 1er cycle d'enseignement supérieur en musique, ou d'un bachelor ou d'un master en musique.

Afin de soutenir les porteurs de projets innovants et valoriser des pratiques, méthodes, outils ou expériences qui s’inscrivent dans le cadre des politiques de formation, le Copanef, le FPSPP et le Centre Inffo ont organisé la 1ère édition des «Innov’Trophées.
Ce projet permet de mettre à disposition des acteurs du tourisme des moyens de production de contenus de formation à distance et en ligne. Cette bibliothèque de contenus qui est modulaire, a été élaborée avec l’Université de Bordeaux.

La concertation préalable à la réforme de l’apprentissage a été lancée par le Gouvernement en novembre 2017, pilotée par Sylvie Brunet (Conseil économique, social et environnemental). Cette concertation qui s’est articulée autour de 4 groupes de travail (orientation scolaire, apprentissage en entreprise, gouvernance et financement et formations) a fait l’objet d’un rapport final remis aux ministres du Travail, de l’Éducation nationale et de l’Enseignement supérieur, le 30 janvier 2018.

Under-paid Shop Stewards : A Case of Strategic Discrimination ? An Econometric Analysis Using 2010 REPONSE Data*

Instances of discrimination against union members continue to accumulate in France, as can be seen by the multiplication of legal proceedings and judgements against a number of large firms. This qualitative impression was underpinned by the statistical results from the 2004 French REPONSE (Relations professionnelles et négociations d’entreprise) survey (the equivalent of the British Workplace Employment Relations Survey), revealing that, at the same age and education, union representatives are paid around 10% less than their colleagues. We here confirm this result in the 2010 wave of the same survey. Union membership does not suffice to explain these lower wages : it is rather shop stewards, who are the most active in the defence of workers’ interests, who are the most heavily penalised. It is in practice difficult to establish that these workers receive lower wages for reasons other than their union responsibilities. The wage gap for union members who are not representatives is much smaller, at around 4%, while it is in firms that experience conflictual labour relations that shop stewards are paid the least.
