First Takes: Will Arizona State and edX’s Freshman-Year Project Live Up to the Hype?

Democratic Lawmakers Push Idea of ‘Debt-Free College’

Cost of College Ratings? For Education Dept., at Least $4 Million

The U.S. Education Department has budgeted more than $4 million to build its controversial college-ratings system, Inside Higher Ed reports. The department’s contract with RTI International shows that it has already paid the company at least $1.8 million to construct a website and test ratings models. Few English Majors Must Study Shakespeare in Depth, Report Says

Few top English departments require students to study Shakespeare in depth as part of their majors, according to a new report from the American Council of Trustees and Alumni. Thousands of Workers Were Denied NYU’s Protections on Abu Dhabi Project, Probe Finds

Study Suggests Sexist Hiring Doesn’t Explain Dearth of Women in Science
