Kaunas to host Erasmus+ info event for Eastern Partnership countries

 

http://ec.europa.eu/wel/template-2012/images/logo/logo_en.gifErasmus+, the EU’s new programme for education, training, sport and youth, will provide more opportunities for students and staff in Eastern Partnership countries to study or train in the European Union – and vice versa.
Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania will host an information event on 24-25 October, which will enable the European Commission to present in detail how the international dimension of the higher education part of the new programme will work. Teaching staff and managers from the main higher education institutions in the region will also receive a briefing on the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions, which funds research fellowships.

The diagrams show you what mainstream schooling looks like in 33 European countries and how different levels of education, from pre-primary to tertiary, are broken down. The diagrams also indicate the general ages of students and the programme duration for each level. Names of national institutions and study programmes are listed in the language of each country. Eduworks: a European training network in labour market matching processes

The project involves a network of institutions where training across disciplines and levels will take place.
The objective of Eduworks is to train talented early-stage researchers in the dynamics of labour market matching processes. The project, with a budget of 3.6 million Euros, is dedicated to understanding the mechanisms of matching supply and demand between education and employment. The University of Sarajevo participates in the “Quality in Research” Tempus Project’s Consortium Meeting

The “Quality in Research” Tempus Project Consortium Meeting was held on 8-9 April 2013 and was hosted by the University of Novi Sad. The University of Sarajevo was invited to participate given its involvement in the project, which began in October 2011 and will last until October 2014.
During the meeting, participants discussed the guidelines for quality in research and agreed at the level of the consortium on a number of items, including ethics in research, promotion of young researchers, gender balance and equal opportunities, and training, practice and quality standards in doctoral dissertations. An agreement was also reached regarding the future activities, and in particular in terms of training the young researchers. For more information, follow this link.

Anspruch auf Bafög trotz Wohnsitz im Ausland

Geklagt hatte ein Student in den Niederlanden. Auch wer vor Beginn seiner Ausbildung nie in Deutschland wohnte, hat möglicherweise Anspruch auf deutsche Ausbildungsförderung (BaföG) für ein Studium außerhalb Deutschlands. Dies geht aus einem Urteil des Europäischen Gerichtshofes (EuGH) in Luxemburg hervor. Der Wohnsitz könne nicht der einzige Maßstab für die für Bafög nötige Verbundenheit mit der deutschen Gesellschaft sein, entschieden die Richter. Mehr...

London leads charge into higher education

A sharp increase in the number of 18-year-olds from Peckham, Barking and Croydon going to university has helped London outpace the rest of the country in the proportion of young people entering higher education, a study reveals. According to the study published by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce), young people from London are 36% more likely to enter higher education now than they were in the late 1990s.
