ITMO University opens new office in Brussels
The St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University) in Russia has announced that it has opened a new international office in Brussels, Belgium.
The university said the new office, that was inaugurated at a special event in Brussels this week, “is created for scientists and researchers all over the world in order to organise an effective international collaboration and active scientific cooperation”. Moreover, it said the new location would allow it to spread information about itself more actively, and would open up additional opportunities for staff and students of the ITMO University, including the “active involvement of foreign colleagues for joint research and educational projects”.

Greek Deputy Minister for Education visits Cedefop
During his first visit to Cedefop, new Greek Deputy Minister for Education Georgios Georgantas praised the agency’s work and expressed his willingness for closer cooperation.
Cedefop Director James Calleja and Deputy Director Mara Brugia welcomed the Greek government official. Mr Calleja said: ‘The centre wishes to work closer with Member States and Greece offers us a huge challenge in trying to give young people more employment opportunities.’ More...
Italy - national youth guarantee programme
Italy has started the youth guarantee programme, implementing the EU Council recommendation of 22 April 2013 (2013/C 120/01) and the EU plan to fight youth unemployment.
Actions supported by the youth guarantee programme are aimed at young people aged 15 to 29 years, residing in Italy, either unemployed or not involved in training or education. A good-quality offer of employment, a study course, an apprenticeship or a traineeship, will be offered to them within a period of four months of becoming unemployed or leaving formal education. Ce document présente le système d’enseignement et de formation professionnels (EFP) du pays : les priorités politiques, la structure du système de formation, des indicateurs chiffrés et des références bibliographiques.
