Umicore, the Fund for Scientific Research-FNRS and Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO) are calling for nominations for the Umicore Materials Technology PhD Award.
The prize will be given for an original contribution in one of the following fields: recycling/resources scarcity (related to metals), materials for catalysis and materials for batteries. Focus final : VAE et doctorat, une particularité française
Lancé par l’Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris il y a quelques années, le Doctorat est accessible à la VAE. Sans revenir sur le principe et l’opérationnalité de ce dispositif, il comporte un enjeu non négligeable entraînant à plus de lisibilité des compétences développées au sein de la formation doctorale, pour les acteurs de la formation eux-mêmes mais aussi pour les personnes en responsabilité de recrutement et de gestion des compétences des organisations professionnelles. Rendre accessible un diplôme à la VAE nécessite un référentiel des compétences développées dans les formations concernées et amenant au diplôme. Aussi, cela signifie formaliser les compétences issues de la formation doctorale et permettre ainsi un meilleur repérage, pour chaque acteur participant à cette formation. Nous voyons bien au travers de ce dispositif la nécessité d’une responsabilité partagée afin d’améliorer les systèmes et répondre aux grands enjeux stratégiques.
Traiter le processus de VAE mis en place dans les universités françaises pour le diplôme de Doctorat soulève un grand nombre de questions, entre autres sur l’organisation de cette formation et le repérage des compétences transversales et d’expertise qui y sont développées. Mais aussi :
- Le rapport groupe / individu dans le sens où un grand nombre de compétences d’expertise relève du champ individuel plutôt que du champ collectif : tout le monde ne développe pas les mêmes compétences lors de la formation doctorale ;
- Les activités de recherche, d’innovation et de gestion de projets menées pendant le temps de la carrière professionnelle, sans avoir donné lieu à une formation à la recherche et par la recherche au préalable deviennent « diplômables » par cette mise en pratique : quel impact / quel effet dans les entreprises sur la valorisation de l’activité d’innovation et de recherche ?
- Les textes institutionnels, européens en particulier, encouragent à l’ouverture d’un espace européen de la recherche performant. Peut-être que cette ouverture de la VAE au Doctorat peut y participer.
