Are Laptops Really Bad For Learning?
By Stephen Downes - Stephen's Web. Are Laptops Really Bad For Learning?
Darren Kuropatwa, A Difference, 2014/09/10
In this good summary of the results of the recent study comparing note-taking with pen and laptop Darren Kuropatwa also points to the underlying reason to be sceptical about the conclusion. In the three studies students performed better on tests after taking notes with the pen, rather than the laptop. The study authors suggest "laptops may be doing more harm in classrooms than good." But that's not what the results show. More...
How digital publishing is changing campus experiences
By Stefanie Botelho. When Duke University class of 2008 arrived on campus to start their freshman year, they had no idea they would become pioneers. Why? Because each of the incoming freshmen received a free iPod as part of a program aimed at fostering innovative uses of technology in the classroom. I led the Apple team that helped Duke experiment with creative academic uses for the devices and I was on campus when the students received their free iPods; it was memorable as the students cheered with excitement as each one was given their new mobile device.
- des interventions d'experts et d'universitaires en binôme, qui permettront d'éclairer des questions de fond sur les usages du numérique en relation avec les apprentissages ;
- des ateliers encadrés, qui permettront de revenir sur les éléments abordés lors des interventions et d'en tirer des recommandations pratiques - sous forme d'interrogations, puisqu'il s'agit de mettre "le numérique en questions" ;
