L’enseignement supérieur et la recherche deviennent de véritables acteurs de l’éducation au développement durable. Avec 2,5 millions d’étudiants et plus de 91 000 enseignants, l’enseignement supérieur est également un lieu d’apprentissage et de réalisation concrète du développement durable. Pour valoriser les initiatives étudiantes sur cette thématique, un concours "génération développement durable" est lancé à destination des étudiants.

By G. Rendell. One of my projects at Greenback U is the creation of a viable bicycle sharing system. We already provide students, faculty and staff with free shuttle service around campus, free ridership on bus routes near campus, car-sharing (short-term rental) options, and a ride-matching system to promote carpooling. And, of course, a lot of our students already bring bikes to campus. But every additional emission-free transportation choice is still a win in terms of bringing down Greenback's greenhouse gas inventory. And every additional opportunity for students to experience a sharing economy is a win in even larger terms. Read more...

Solidarité, responsabilité, engagement, respect : le développement durable mobilise des valeurs similaires à celles de la République. Donner les moyens aux enfants et aux adultes autour d’eux d’apprendre à respecter l’environnement, c’est leur apprendre à se respecter eux-mêmes et à respecter les autres. Bâtir des projets communs autour de l’environnement, notamment à l’école, en collège ou au lycée, c’est faire vivre de manière concrète la notion de fraternité et montrer aux jeunes qu’ils sont capables de s’engager ensemble dans un projet, au-delà de leurs différences. Most of us have been raised in a society which, almost by design, discourages us from even thinking about such things.
