Asia-Pacific universities gaining local appeal
Close to two-thirds of parents in Asia-Pacific plan to send their children to local universities for higher education, according to MasterCard’s survey on Consumer Purchasing Priorities – Education.
The survey found that the majority of those in Vietnam (79 percent), Bangladesh (78 percent), Japan (76 percent), India (75 percent), the Philippines (69 percent), Singapore (69 percent), Thailand (67 percent), Indonesia (64 percent), New Zealand (61 percent), Taiwan (57 percent) and Australia (53 percent) intend to send their children to schools in the region.
