Challenges ahead for higher education

THE merging of the Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry was one of the issues that drew the interest and ire of delegates at the Second Education Nation Conference recently. The effects of the post-merger integration and how it would affect the direction of the Higher Education policy received much attention from conference participants who included many senior educators, corporate leaders and policy-makers.
Topic moderator and also Razak School of Government chief executive officer, Dr Hamidin Abdul Hamid said it was necessary to know the outcome and repercussions of the move (in merging both ministries).
