Fin décembre 2017, en France métropolitaine, parmi les personnes inscrites à Pôle emploi et tenues de rechercher un emploi (catégories A, B, C), 3 451 400 sont sans emploi (catégorie A) et 2 160 900 exercent une activité réduite (catégories B, C), soit au total 5 612 300 personnes.
En France métropolitaine, le nombre de demandeurs d’emploi en catégorie A baisse sur trois mois de 0,7 %
(–24 200). Ce nombre recule de 0,1 % sur un mois (–2 700) et de 0,5 % sur un an. Sur trois mois, le nombre de personnes exerçant une activité réduite courte (78 heures ou moins dans le mois, catégorie B) diminue de 1,2 % (–1,1 % sur un mois) et celui des personnes en activité réduite longue (plus de 78 heures dans le mois, catégorie C) s’accroît de 2,1 % (+0,9 % sur un mois). Au total, le nombre de demandeurs d’emploi en catégories A, B, C diminue sur trois mois de 0,1 % (–3 600). Ce nombre reste stable sur un mois (+900) et progresse de 2,7 % sur un an.
