Japan roots for higher education breakthrough and Innovation in Africa

Japan will offer crucial support to Africa’s development efforts with the aim of enabling the African continent to nurture cutting-edge science and technology innovations, Japanese and Kenyan officials have said. Vietnam’s Higher Education Reforms Target 10,000 PhDs in Six Years

AEC News TodayVietnam has announced a bold new higher education reform agenda. The government of Vietnam will offer up to 10,000 government scholarships for overseas doctoral study between 2014 and 2020 (or 1,300–1,500 per year) to tertiary and research institute staff. Big Ten Universities Become Bigger With International Students

American universities and colleges enrolled 350,000 more international students in 2014/15 as compared to 2007/08, indicating strong attractiveness of U.S. higher education institutions among globally mobile students. During the period of seven years since the beginning of the global financial recession, the number of international students in the U.S. increased by 56% to reach nearly 975,000 students. However, the international student enrollment at ten leading public research universities has grown much faster, at a rate of 74% ,reaching nearly 90,000 international students in the same period.
