Launch of the 6th Big Tent Communiqué on Higher Education and Engagement

http://www.guninetwork.org/sites/all/themes/guninetwork_html5/logo.png The 6th Big Tent Communiqué was released last 9 of October during the 12th Annual Conference of the PASCAL International Observatory.  GUNi together with more than 15 international organizations agreed on this joint statement making a call for action addressed to higher education institutions to undertake collaborative actions with civil society and government in order to better address global challenges. The 8 Catalan public universities in solidarity with the refugees

The event signalled the start of a series of actions that the Catalan public universities are to conduct under the slogan of ‘Universitats Refugi’ (Refuge Universities) #UniversitatsRefugi. See more...

Advancing the UN Goals: Leadership in the Post-2015 World

The event, organized by the Sant Pau Knowledge Center in collaboration with the International Leadership Association, discussed how participants can engage others leaders and institutions at this new scenario of the 2030 Agenda. International organizations with its offices at the Sant Pau Art Noveau Site such as GUNi, UN-Habitat, the European Forest Institute and the UNU-GCM were present at the event. See more...

UNESCO Chairs chart new paths to an increasing engagement of universities both global and local

The event took place at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site where participants had the opportunity to develop a blueprint for the Report Higher Education in the World 6 (HEIW6). During the day, guests discussed about the role that UNESCO Chairs are playing for the local and global impact of Higher Education Institutions and how they can contribute to achieve the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) approved by United Nations last week. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is approved by unanimity by the UN member states

Under the title “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” this new blueprint was launched in order to overcome global challenges especially regarding the end of poverty in all its forms and dimensions until 2030. Kick-off of the European project HEIRRI

GUNi-ACUP is responsible for the HEIRRI dissemination plan, which includes the communication and internationalization strategy. Good internal and external information flow, gathering and sharing contents of the Consortium and raise awareness of RRI in Higher Education Institutions are some of its main goals. The working plan will also promote the public presentation of HEIRRI trough international meetings. See more...

GUNi collaborates in the organization of the International Conference 'The Contribution of HE on the United Nations 2030 Agenda’

http://www.guninetwork.org/sites/all/themes/guninetwork_html5/logo.pngGUNi, together with ACUP (The Catalan Association of Public Universities), will collaborate in the organization of the International Conference 'The Contribution of HE on the United Nations 2030 Agenda’, which is led by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Jaume Bofill Foundation. The event will be held on 8 and 9 October at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site and will have various sessions and workshops. During those days, participants will have the opportunity to discuss about the role of Higher Education at the educational international agenda and will help to define specific actions to be developed in order to achieve the goals adopted by the United Nations (UN). Les dossiers Pays Campus France : République de Corée

Campus FranceEn 2014, la République de Corée comptait 3,6 millions d’étudiants dont 1,5 millions d’étudiantes (42,6 %) et près de 87 000 enseignants-chercheurs dont 20 000 femmes (23 %). Le taux de scolarisation dans l’enseignement supérieur des jeunes sud-coréens dépasse 85 % de la tranche d’âge concerné.
Les établissements d’enseignement supérieur en Corée du Sud sont au nombre de 433, dont 226 universités (48 publiques et 178 privées) et 163 collèges universitaires de formation professionnelle majoritairement privés (154). Le ministère de l’Éducation coréen joue un rôle de tutelle pour tous ces établissements. Il évalue la qualité des diplômes et a mis en place depuis 2015 un système de classement national des universités. Voir l'article...
