Society for Threatened People to help the MSPI campaign

President of the FUEN Loránt Vincze presented the Minority SafePack Initiative at the General Assembly of the Society for Threatened People (GfbV) in Göttingen, Germany and asked the organisation and its members to support the MSPI campaign. The 4th annual FUEN TAG Meeting concluded in İzmir

The 4th Annual Meeting of the Working Group of Turkic Minorities/Communities (TAG) under the umbrella of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) was held from 24-27 October 2017, hosted by the FUEN Member Organisation Rhodes, Kos and Dodecanese Turks Culture and Solidarity Association (ROISDER). The Hungarian Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution in support of the Minority SafePack Initiative

The Hungarian Parliament unanimously salutes the Minority SafePack European Citizens' Initiative in a resolution adopted on Tuesday, October 31^st. The proposal drafted by the Citizens' Committee of the Federal Union of European Nationalities and submitted to the European Commission aims for a European level legislative framework intended to protect autochthonous national and linguistic minorities in Europe, and the cultural diversity of the European Union. Hungarian Diaspora Council expresses support for the Minority SafePack Initiative

The FUEN President pointed out that Budapest has expressed solidarity with the Hungarian minority communities living outside of Hungary, just as Germany supports the initiative that will grant protection for German speaking communities in Europe. Vincze Loránt presented the Minority SafePack Initiative and asked the representatives of the council to join the petition campaign and help spread the news about the initiative in minority communities, towards majority communities, and to other diaspora organisations. The petition campaign for the Minority SafePack Initiative has officially been launched in Austria today

Under the motto My language is part of the European diversity the petition campaign for the Minority Safepack Initiative has been officially launched today in Wien, Austria. The event was marked by a press conference held on the matter by FUEN President Vincze Lóránt, Luis Durnwalder, the former Governor of South-Tyrol, FUEN Vice-president Daniel Alfreider, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austrian diplomat of Carinthian Slovene origin Valentin Inzko, who is currently serving as and the representatives of the Burgenland Croats and Carinthian Slovenes. Minority SafePack Initiative: the first 100,000 signatures

In September the FUEN put together a European campaign strategy for the Minority SafePack Initiative and has a campaign team that has been in contact with the Member Organisations and regions. The new website, focusing on easy-to-understand stories from all across Europe was launched along with an MSPI booklet together with other promotional materials. The European Commission has also updated the petition site, which is now accessible also from mobile devices. More...
