Why we need to teach political philosophy in schools

The ConversationWhat is the spectre haunting Europe today? It’s simple. The thing that truly dogs us, that really drags at our heels, is ignorance. Angela Mendelovici, Prezi, February 11, 2013

Sample philosophy paper with all the major elements presented and explained. It's a short four-page paper, but for the longer papers authors typically repeat the same process. I wish the author had chosen a less user-histile format to present the paper than Prezi. More...

The Epistemology of Consent

By Stephen Downes - Stephen's Web. The Epistemology of Consent
Alexander A. Guerrero, Applied Epistemology, 2018/12/26
Educators deal with issues of consent on a daily basis, but it's rare in general to pause and think about the epistemology of consent, that is, how we know that consent has been obtained. Generally, I think, people would say they "just know". But this is a very bad standard. More...

If universities sacrifice philosophy on the altar of profit, what’s next?

By Stephen Downes - Stephen's Web. If universities sacrifice philosophy on the altar of profit, what’s next?
