HomeBy Colleen Flaherty. Howard University is distancing itself from an unidentified professor who apparently wrote in a syllabus that family deaths were no excuse for missing exams. The syllabus -- reported on by theDaily Mail after someone identifying herself as a student posted it on Reddit -- says, “There will be no makeup exam, quizzes or assignments” and, “Please don't bring me doctors'/death certificates, funeral obituaries I will no accept these [sic].
