India State to Start Rating Universities

There has been considerable interest in global university rankings in India recently, particularly the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa) rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and the BRICS Plus Emerging Economies rankings by Times Higher Education (THE). There have been concerns that the performance of Indian universities has failed to match that of the National University of Singapore.
