Students demand say over university principals' pay

Taxpayer funding for universities should be withdrawn unless students are consulted fully on the appointment of principals and their salaries, MSPs have been told. The National Union of Students (NUS) led a major attack on a draft code of governance drawn up by the chairs of university governing bodies, arguing that it ignored reform in the hope of protecting vested interests.
