Big majority of postgrads want to study abroad
More than 87 percent of young Portuguese questioned at last year’s International Fair of Post-Graduate Studies (FIEP) said they would like to study abroad, a study published on Wednesday reveals. The survey of 700 masters’ and post-graduate students show that around a third would like to study in Spain, followed by 27 percent favouring the UK, and 11 percent for the US.
The results of the survey were published in the run-up to this year’s fair, which is to take place on 16 April in Lisbon. As for what the students were looking forward to after their course, 435 said they wanted to work for a multinational and 32% in some other kind of company, with just 18% stating the desire to be self-employed.
