Do university academics experience contra-power harassment? Call for survey participants

There has been a significant change in the power imbalance between academics and students. Previous work has highlighted the difficulties experienced by academics and especially the perceptions of contra-power harassment enacted by students. Shouting, swearing, physical violence, stalking and character assassination on social media are some of the more defining experiences academics may encounter from students, however other studies have highlighted that additional unwarranted behaviour does occur; behaviours such as sexist comments, inappropriate eye contact, physical advances of a sexual nature, sexual bribery, sexual assault and obscene phone calls or emails.
