State funding per tertiary student ‘halved in 10 years’

State third-level funding per student is half what it was 10 years ago, according to the body representing Ireland’s seven universities. In a pre-budget submission, the Irish Universities’ Association has called for a significant increase in core funding from the state, as well as capital investment of more than €5 billion (US$5.9 billion) over the next 12 years, writes Emma O Kelly for RTÉ. Taipei universities face dormitory beds crisis
