Cette formation a été suivie par les doctorants de l’Université de Bordeaux depuis 2017 et déployée en 2018 à Aix-Marseille Université, au Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle et à AgroParisTech. La présente version intègre des modifications suite aux retours des doctorant.e.s. Parmi les 369 doctorant.e.s de Bordeaux et Aix-Marseille ayant répondu au questionnaire d'évaluation de la formation 2018, 85% l'ont jugée utile et 89% estiment avoir acquis des connaissances nouvelles.
