What is the STORY Student Guidebook?
The STORY (Strengthening the Training Opportunities for International Youth) project is an EU funded project that aims at improving the accessibility and quality of international traineeships, as well as at increasing the awareness on the existence of such opportunities for youth.
A research on the subject through online questionnaires will be committed. STORY Survey 2014 will not only analyse the accessibility and quality of study and training mobility programmes but will also survey obstacles, especially the ones related to recognition, and expectations observed by the main actors involved in mobility for studies and traineeships (Students, Higher Education Institutions, National Agencies and Receiving Companies/Organisations).
In the frame of the dissemination of the results from this research, ESN edited the Student Guidebook, which aims to guide international students step-by-step through the process of academic recognition before, during and after their exchange experience.

The European Commission, in partnership with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Fundación Universidad-Empresa and InNorMadrid, the Innovation Office of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, is organising a thematic forum entitled “Fostering University Business Cooperation Ecosystems in Europe and Latin America”, on 24 and 25 June in Madrid.
The forum aims to gather industry and academia representatives to explore new collaboration opportunities for universities and businesses.

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) in Lithuania has announced the creation of a “Knowledge Consortium: Social Technologies for Smart and Inclusive Society (SOCTECH)” that involves European and Asian universities. MRU said the overall aim of the initiative was to “unite higher education institutions, as well as business companies to implement the vision of smart and inclusive society via social technologies based innovations”.

The Heads of University Management & Administration Network in Europe (HUMANE) Annual Conference entitled “Measuring the University's Performance: Data for Decisions”, will take place at the University of Latvia in Riga from 27 to 28 June 2014.
The conference discussions will look at how to “support decision-making processes at universities, how to obtain, process and save data and how to use data better for decision making”. The event is open to all university professionals.

The Council of Europe has published an e-book on shared European histories on 5 May, marking the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe’s European Cultural Convention.
The 900 page e-book Shared Histories  is a “European history teaching tool for teachers, teacher trainers and curricula designers, pupils and their families”.
It is available to download for free in English, with certain elements in French.
