eucen Annual Conferences are organised once a year always in spring. These academically-focused Conferences are coorganised in partnership with one of eucen’s Full Member universities on a topical theme. A wide range of participants come together to debate current issues, to exchange best practices and innovation and to network.

The University of Mainz in Germany introduces the next eucen conference "University Lifelong Learning and the labour market in Europe - the contribution of continuing education and vocational education to the challenges of changing work and qualification requirements"

The project LETAE (Reinforce the Labour Efficiency of Tertiary Adult Education at Universities) did its final conference in Barcelona, 20 June 2016. The University of Mainz in Germany introduces the next eucen conference "University Lifelong Learning and the labour market in Europe - the contribution of continuing education and vocational education to the challenges of changing work and qualification requirements".
The eucen conference in 2017 will take place in Mainz, Germany, and will discuss the different European models of Continuing Education and Vocational Education and Training as contribution for the challenges of the labour market.
The changes on the European labour market require to establish stronger links between the dual vocational education and training systems and institutes of higher education. To improve the integration into vocational training through basic skills and permeability, the higher education system has to be opened up for new target groups. Therefore also new flexible study formats have to be offered which are appropriate for students working beside studies.

The new proposal VINCE - Validation for inclusion of new citizens of Europe, submitted by eucen at the end of May has been approved. Work will start effectively in January 2017.
VINCE will develop training for university staff members working in the area of recognition of prior learning, specifically those working with newcomers and refugees. The project will adapt the standard processes to improve access and inclusion in HE for the disadvantaged groups, helping them integrate into the European society. The adaptation will include guidelines for newcomers and an introduction to the terminology of HE in the host country, supporting language developement. Policy recommendations based on these activities will be produced. More...

Cette année, l'Université de Bretagne occidentale devrait accueillir près de 21 000 étudiants. En plein travail sur la carte des formations 2017-2022, l'UBO a émis 127 projets de formation en licence, licence pro et master. Parmi les nouveautés espérées : une licence "Arts", un master "Musique traditionnelle" avec l'Ecole supérieure interrégionale d'arts dans le cadre de l'université Bretagne Loire et une formation en e-commerce.

En pleine discussion avec les universités, les organisations étudiantes et syndicales à propos de la sélection actuelle réalisée entre le master 1 et le master 2, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, ministre de l'Education, espère pouvoir finaliser un accord courant octobre. Soumis à la communauté universitaire, elle souhaite qu'une loi et qu'un décret puissent voir le jour pour que la réforme du master soit effective à la rentrée 2017.

L'Université de Limoges vient de se doter du premier diplôme universitaire en droit animalier, dispensé sur le campus de Brive-la-Gaillarde. Créé en partenariat avec 30 millions d'amis, il est fondé sur "une discipline en plein essor mais complexe et mal maîtrisée" car "à cheval sur les droits civil, pénal, rural ou environnemental".
Ouverte aux bac +2, il ne mène pas à un métier mais à une spécialisation, indique l'un de ses créateurs, Lucille Boisseau-Sowinski, maîtresse de conférence en droit privé.
La première promotion compte 29 étudiants, dont 12 en formation continue, d'horizons très variés (avocats, professeur de philosophie, étudiant en éthologie...).
Sur ce sujet, la France est très en retard par rapport aux Etats-Unis où le droit animalier est enseigné depuis une vingtaine d'années, dans la majorités des universités.
