Secretary General calls on member states to recognise, protect and promote Romani language

Romani is the language of 10-12 million Roma living in Europe. If left unprotected, the language and the unique cultural heritage it represents are endangered and the Roma will be deprived of a key component of their identity. Raoul Wallenberg Prize 2020: deadline for candidates extended to 30 November

The Council of Europe Raoul Wallenberg Prize has been awarded every two years since 2014 in recognition of extraordinary humanitarian achievements by a single individual, a group of individuals or an organisation. Integrating migrants: survey finds language courses more beneficial than tests

Policies on language and knowledge of society for migrants in Council of Europe member states and the learning opportunities are the focus of the new survey that has been presented at the conference in the Council of Europe on 16 October.
