GAML: Monitoring data for SDG 4.6.1

The Global Alliance to Monitor Learning (GAML) is an initiative to support national strategies for measuring learning. Led by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), it provides stakeholders, researchers, UN agencies and NGOs with a platform for discussion to facilitate data collection on a global scale.
As part of the GAML, a thematic task force was established to address Target 4.6 of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which calls on UN Member States to ‘ensure that all youth and a substantial proportion of adults, both men and women, achieve literacy and numeracy’ by 2030. More...

This special issue on non-formal and community learning for sustainable development presents and analyses a wide range of non-formal Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) practices from different parts of the world (Western Europe, East Asia, Latin America, and Southern Africa). University students to pay for corporate tax cuts

Milestones, borders and boundaries: EAIE 2017 in review

It was a very good year! Perhaps not quite in the same sense as in Frank Sinatra’s classic song, but I have the impression that the EAIE really made significant progress on many fronts. One of the more obvious milestones was the Annual Conference & Exhibition in Seville. Not only did we have a record attendance of 6000 participants from 95 different countries, we also took strides in making the conference more sustainable and offset its carbon footprint. On top of that, we ran two successful Academies in Marseille and Warsaw, organised a Spotlight Seminar on Marketing and Recruiting in Amsterdam, and moved forward with our strategic goals. More...

With a theme of ‘The Sustainability Development Goals’ for the Winter edition of Forum, this issue is simultaneously intimidating and inspiring. Latest GreenMetric Ranking: Wageningen Takes the Lead

The latest GreenMetric ranking from Universitas Indonesia has just been announced with Wageningen University and Research Centre taking the lead from the University of California Davis.
