Committed to the SDGs for the Global Day of Action!

The 25th of September 2019 marks the 4th anniversary of the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals. Worldwide this day is marked as a Global Day of Action, under the #Act4SDGs Campaign.
The aim of the 2030 Agenda is for nobody to be left behind, and universities together with all other actors should play a leading role in its achievement. To celebrate the 4th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are excited to share with you some of the work we have done so far and future actions in the framework of the strategic line that GUNi adopted around the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. Launch of the publication "Implementing the 2030 Agenda at Higher Education Institutions: Challenges and Responses"

· The 2nd meeting of the GUNi Group of Experts on SDGs and Higher Education and presentation of its last publication was celebrated on the 3rd and 4th of October 2019 and gathered over 85 people at the Ateneu Barcelonès in Barcelona.
· This publication focuses on the obstacles that Higher Education institutions encounter when implementing the Sustainable Developement Goals and offers some clues as to what some higher education institutions do to overcome them. It includes regional and institutional approaches to sustainable development and it offers a picture of how some higher education institutions can, and do, embed sustainable development in their core missions.
· GUNi will hold a second edition of the GUNi International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals and Higher Education, to be celebrated in Barcelona on the 5th and 6th March 2020. More...

The Non-Kin-State Working Group’s Annual Meeting starts next week in Romania

One more win for European minorities before the Court of Justice of the EU

The promoters of the Minority SafePack European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) were vindicated for the second time by the European Court of Justice in a case brought against it by Romania. On June 28 2017, the country brought proceedings before the Court seeking the annulment of the Commission’s decision to register the ECI. The decision of the General Court confirms that the European Commission took the right decision when – also following a previous ruling of the Court – it gave the ECI the green light. More...

Notice to NTEU Members of a Post-Election Report

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is required to make a Report after it conducts an election for the NTEU. IT has done say about a recent election [E2019/22].
