It correctly points to the idea that "The only way out of an overload of push email and information overload is to turn to pull technologies you access when and how you choose. Bering Strait School District

Today is my last day in Alaska - I catch the red-eye tonight - and I leave with a new appreciation and affection for this northern state. Hm. If I were ever allowed (I'm not), I would host my own information technology roundtable. Fame would not be a requirement, just a demonstrated engagement in new learning technologies. It would be genuinely international and it would include as many women as men. It's not hard to get such a group together, you just have to want to do it, and be blind to a certain demographic's persistent self-promotion. Oh, and I'd invite Terry Anderson, because he is certainly astute enough. Anyhow, it's nice to see the (demographically challenged) current group of "intellegensia" finally discovering 'pull'. Well I guess it's official now - Blackboard has embraced e-learning 2.0. Proposals include "personalizing the e-Learning environment," facilitation of social networking, "Network Learning Environments," and workplace learning. The lead tells the story: "Schools (in Australia) have warned they will have to turn off the internet if a move by the nation's copyright collection society forces them to pay a fee every time a teacher instructs students to browse a website." I guess I don't really need to comment. What I wonder is, if this is implemented, will I start getting royalty cheques from Australia? Thought not. More...
