EUA responds to the European Commission’s Work Programme 2018

In its response, EUA regrets that the present programme does not include visible efforts to further develop the European Research Area (ERA). Realising Europe’s potential in research and innovation by working seamlessly across borders and closing the innovation divide between the member states would in itself be a powerful factor for realising the ambitions of the Commission, creating sustainable growth and jobs for our continent and retaining a competitive industrial base. Effective simplification for FP9: EUA kicks off informal dialogue with major stakeholders

The EUA member consultation on the Horizon 2020 mid-term review concluded that “despite the progress in simplification in some areas, Horizon 2020 is still associated with a high administrative burden at all stages of application, participation and project administration. Questions related to staff costs and accounting methodologies have yet to be solved.” In practical terms, these challenges are reflected in a high number of errors that beneficiaries make while reporting on their direct and indirect costs in Horizon 2020. The 6th ASEF Rectors’ Conference issues policy recommendations for Asian and European ministers of education

Higher education cooperation for development and the Sustainable Development Goals: report from the EARMA/EUA seminar

On 18 October, EUA and EARMA, the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators, co-organised a seminar entitled "Higher education cooperation for development and Sustainable Development Goals: Meeting global and regional challenges". The seminar was hosted by MEP Bogdan Wenta at the European Parliament, in Brussels.
