Defragmenting HR organisation for a better provision of talents

Blog Educpros de Bruno Dufour. Talent supply chain:
For a long period, talents were seen as an abundant, available resource. It may be time now, like sustainability movement did, to revisit this position and define new approaches.
Summary: Segmentation, tensions and silos organisations within HR do not allow to design the best supply chain to provide and manage talents over time.
Corporate Universities, different from training centres, have a specific role to play as well as career development, succession planning and mobility.

Voir l'article...

By Carol Goar. Thanks to a handful of tenacious sleuths, the great Canadian skill shortage has been exposed as a myth.
It took nine months of detective work by economists, journalists, social media sleuths and investigators at the Parliamentary Budget Office to solve the mystery of Canada’s missing job vacancies. Last week Auditor General Mike Ferguson made it official: The federal government was using unreliable statistics to support its claim that Canada had plenty of jobs but no workers with the skills to fill them. Figuring out your transferrable skills helps to envision yourself in another job

http://www.universityaffairs.ca/images/BlogCareersCafe.jpgBy . Working with extremely competent, intelligent clients has shown me that, no matter how competent and intelligent a person is, it takes a real leap of faith for them to imagine themselves in a career path other than the one they’re currently in. We hear about the importance of storytelling – from marketing, to job seeking, conflict resolution, user experience and who knows what else. The value in storytelling lies in the fact that we all tell stories already to make sense of our lives. For all that, it’s easier for us to imagine some stories than others.
