Education data shows the way

The proportion of schools with 50% or higher of low-impact long-term disadvantaged (most minority ethnic) pupils is 7% in London and 63% in the north. They conclude that to close the gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged groups action should focus on: pupils who are the most disadvantaged (and particularly those eligible for FSM for 90% or more of their time in schools); groups where the impact of disadvantage is high (mainly white pupils); schools where the proportion of minority ethnic pupils in the cohort is lower than 50%. Accès à l’université : les points litigieux… ne sont pas dans la loi !

Dans une dizaine d’universités, des blocages sont venus pénaliser le fonctionnement du service public pour protester contre la réforme de l’admission à l’université. Mais très vite, les revendications se sont éloignées du leur cause initiale pour dénoncer pêle-mêle les atteintes au statut de cheminot, la situation du peuple kurde, l’expulsion des zadistes de Notre Dame des Landes… ou même réclamer l’abolition du capitalisme.
Au final, la loi ORE est nécessaire mais reste pour l’instant insuffisante. Mettre fin à l’arbitraire du tirage au sort représente en soi un progrès, à condition que tous les néo-bacheliers de France aient cette fois accès à la formation souhaitée lors de leurs vœux. Il faudrait donc patienter jusqu’à septembre pour savoir si Parcoursup tient réellement ses promesses. Plus...
