http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR2SreyoIm8PapwQpJpsAQ4TY5L6G4UI5LmTJiAsWtOoLZm1bDtR_58SwFlagging the issue of India’s poor contribution in international scientific research, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today asked institutions of higher learning to make collective efforts to “improve” the present state of affairs.
He also said UPA’s nine years of rule has seen “unprecedented” expansion of the education system at all levels as the government believes that a skilled workforce is critical for rapid socio-economic progress of the country.
“As far as higher education in science and technology in our country is concerned, there are massive challenges that lie ahead. To give an idea of where we stand today, India’s research output as global share of scientific publications was a mere 3.5 per cent in 2010 whereas China’s share was 21 per cent  in 2007...,” he said. Turkey becoming regional education base

http://www.worldbulletin.net/themes/default/img/logoSmall.gifIn 2013, 140,000 students from 150 countries applied via the Internet to study with the help of bursaries at Turkish universities. Of the 140,000 international students who applied to study through scholarship programs provided by the Turkish government in 2013, only 4,000 were able to attain one of these scholarships.
The overseas demand for scholarship programs in Turkish higher education has increased, as students from the US, Israel and even Armenia, with which Turkey currently has no diplomatic ties due to the events of 1915, are increasingly applying to study in Turkey through various scholarship awards.
The academic bursaries provided by the Turkish government for international students are being restructured under the auspices of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

Suite...
