Register of higher education providers launched

HEFCE has today published its first register of higher education providers. An authoritative reference point for a wide range of users, the register describes the powers that providers regulated in England have, and the controls that apply to them.
It is launched alongside an updated ‘operating framework for higher education’, which explains the arrangements for regulating higher education providers in England. More..

Understanding cultures through MOOCs

As businesses continue to grow and expand across the globe and the world becomes more interconnected, working with different cultures has become a critical skill. La bourse au mérite supprimée : Les étudiants n'ont pas dit leur dernier mot

Non, la recherche ne tue pas l’enseignement

Par Jean-Pierre Helfer. Dans tous les pays du monde, la recherche occupe une position privilégiée pour attester de la qualité d’un établissement. Remettre en cause ce modèle serait catastrophique pour l’enseignement supérieur français.
Certaines voix s’élèvent aujourd’hui pour affirmer que, dans les écoles de commerce, l’accent mis sur la recherche nuit à la qualité de l’enseignement, au motif que, par une sorte de jeu de vases communicants, trop développer d’énergies sur la première pénaliserait le dynamisme du second. Cette analyse n’est pas simplement erronée, elle est criminelle. Elle peut conduire à la ruine à brève échéance de l’actuelle position très enviable des enseignements français de management dans le monde. Voir l'article...
