IEP offers higher education institutions the opportunity to take part in a comprehensive, improvement-oriented institutional evaluation conducted by a team of experienced higher education leaders.

EUA’s Annual Report 2014 is now available on the EUA website. The report summarises the different activities carried out by EUA on behalf of and in support of its members last year across a number of thematic areas including: learning and teaching; research and innovation; quality management; governance, autonomy and funding; and internationalisation.

EUA Council for Doctoral Education hosts global event at University of Iceland
27 university leaders in doctoral education from five continents met at the University of Iceland on 21-22 May to discuss talent development and doctoral education at the 3rd Strategic Global Forum on Doctoral Education.
The meeting confirmed the converging global trends in doctoral education, which EUA has observed since its CODOC project: doctoral education is becoming an ever more integrated part of the development of knowledge societies around the globe, and universities face often similar challenges in training talented researchers for a changing society as well as for changing academic careers. EMOOCs 2015 Stakeholder Summit: Making sense of MOOCs
In absolute figures: according to the May edition of the European MOOC scoreboards, European MOOCs with 1481 courses account for almost one-third of the world MOOC production – in the past, it was one-fourth. In EUA’s 2015 Trends study, almost more than one-fifth of institutions indicated that they have MOOCs – and another 24% planned to have one. Assuming that the 449 institutions are representative – and there are indications that they are, at least for the EU area – every second European university will have MOOCs. More...

IAU Highlights from the Press is a monthly review of media and news sources produced to keep IAU Members up-to-date on higher education news and trends worldwide. This issue includes articles, in English and French, from 36 different countries which appeared in the press in May 2015. The articles have been selected and analysed by the IAU on the basis of the frequency of occurrence in the press of the subject they tackle, their geographical coverage and relevance to IAU priority themes.
