Erasmus+ / Erasmus Mundus à l'université de Bordeaux : une centaine d'étudiants du monde entier inscrits !

L'université de Bordeaux, dispose actuellement de 8 programmes détenteurs du label Erasmus Mundus (dans le cadre de l'Action 1) et désormais Erasmus+, dans les domaines suivants :

Master et doctorat en neurosciences
Doctorat en santé globale
Master en matériaux fonctionnels avancés et ingénierie
Master et doctorat en algèbre, géométrie et théorie des nombres
Master en environnement et ressources marins
Doctorat en matériaux fonctionnels pour l'énergie, l'informatique et la santé. Voir l'article...

EPALE : la plateforme électronique pour l’éducation des adultes en Europe

Pour répondre aux besoins d'échange et de coopération des professionnels de l'éducation et de la formation des adultes, la Commission européenne a créé la plateforme EPALE (European Platform for Adult LEarning).
Plateforme collaborative, EPALE permet de partager des ressources (blogs, actualités, évènements, articles…) et d'échanger autour de problématiques ou de pratiques communes. Voir l'article...

Erasmus+, c'est 650.000 apprentis en mobilité d'ici 2020

Le 12 mai dernier, le groupe de travail pour l'emploi des jeunes de l'Institut Jacques Delors a publié une tribune dans laquelle il appelait les responsables européens à créer un nouveau programme en faveur de la mobilité de formation des jeunes. Intitulée Erasmus Pro, la proposition prévoit de financer la mobilité d'un million d'Européens d'ici 2020 et vise à lutter contre le chômage des jeunes. Diffusée par le journal Le Monde, puis relayée par l'ensemble des médias français, la proposition a suscité l'attention de nombreux politiques qui, à l'instar de Manuel Valls ou encore d'Emmanuel Macron, prônent dorénavant la mise en œuvre d'un « Erasmus professionnel » ou d'un « Erasmus pour tous », qui se veulent moins « élitistes » que le programme star de la Commission européenne. Éducation populaire : vers la mobilité européenne pour les jeunes

Dans le cadre de ses travaux, le Groupe d'études sur l'éducation populaire et la culture a organisé une table ronde sur le développement du sentiment d'appartenance à l'Europe chez les jeunes et de leur participation politique dans l'espace européen.

Assessing the achievements of European cooperation in the field of education

On the 18th of May, the European Union's ministers met to discuss education, youth, culture and sport. Several discussions were held on the topic of education, including the midterm review of ET2020 and the follow-up on the Paris Declaration. The successes of European cooperation in the field of education and training (ET2020) were discussed at the meeting. Outcomes of the EHEA Ministerial Conference

On the 14th and 15th of May the ministers of education in the European Higher Education Area meet in Yerevan, Armenia to discuss the priorities for higher education for the next three years. The European Students’ Union were present representing the students in the Area at the table. In addition, students took part in many countries’ delegations.

Message from Paris: Information is not knowledge

9-11 June 2015, Paris - International Council of Open and Distance Education (ICDE) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hosted a Global High level Policy Forum “Online, Open, and Flexible Higher Education for the Future We Want - From statements to action: equity, access, and quality learning outcomes”
Aim of the Forum was to result in a sustainable vision and strategic directions in support of harnessing the potential of online, open and distance education to support students in the 21st century knowledge society. The Paris message – as it was named – contains 16 actions targeted at governments and institutions addressing the challenges and proposing concrete and urgent actions. More...

Placing Students at the Heart of Quality Assurance

Student participation in quality assurance has been one of the success stories of the student participation in higher education governance and Bologna process in general. This has been acknowledged in the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) since 2005 - at institutional level, external reviews and in quality assurance governance. Still, it must be remembered that there is a marked difference between formal and active involvement of students in quality assurance. QS and Times Higher Education Asian Rankings

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Times Higher Education (THE) have both produced Asian university rankings. The scope and methodology of the two rankings are somewhat different. The THE rankings include Middle Eastern universities and use the same methodology as their World University Rankings. The QS rankings do not include universities in the Middle East and use a methodology that is different from that used in the global rankings. More...

Brazil dominates QS Latin American Ranking

The QS published Latin American ranking, third in the series of regional university rankings. Once again, QS have adjusted their methodology to take account of regional priorities. The weighting of the academic survey is 30 % compared to 40% in the world rankings while the employer survey has been assigned 20%, reflecting the region’s concern with the employability of graduates.
