Sorbonne Universités fédère des établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche de premier plan autour d’un projet commun combinant une offre de formation originale avec une recherche de premier plan.
Faire plus ensemble que séparément
Sorbonne Universités est une Communauté d’universités et d’établissements (Comue) regroupant onze membres reconnus pour leur excellence et intervenant dans des champs complémentaires. Tout en affirmant leur autonomie et leurs spécificités disciplinaires, ces établissements ont choisi de fédérer leurs atouts autour d’un projet scientifique, intellectuel, culturel et social de refondation de l’institution universitaire. Leur objectif ? Relever les quatre grands défis auxquels les transformations majeures et rapides de nos sociétés confrontent l’enseignement et la recherche :

dépasser les frontières disciplinaires pour développer les approches pédagogiques et scientifiques transdisciplinaires nécessaires à l’appréhension des problèmes complexes et globaux;

stimuler et enrichir la vie universitaire et de campus grâce à un programme social, culturel et sportif ambitieux ;

Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier

Héritière directe de l’ancienne Université de Toulouse fondée en 1229, l’Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier est née officiellement en 1969 de la fusion des Facultés de médecine, de pharmacie et des sciences. Elle se situe aujourd’hui parmi les premières universités françaises, grâce à son rayonnement scientifique et à la diversité des laboratoires et des formations qu’elle propose en sciences, en santé, en sport, en technologie et en ingénierie.
Le nom de l'Université Toulouse III rend hommage à Paul Sabatier, scientifique né à Carcassonne en 1854. Prix Nobel de chimie en 1912, Paul Sabatier a été doyen de la Faculté des sciences de Toulouse et membre de l’Académie des sciences. C’est sous l’égide de ce savant que l’Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier est fière d’accueillir aujourd’hui plus de 32 000 étudiants et d’héberger sur son campus 86 structures de recherche.
