University-SME engagement: the geography of connectivity across England and the effects on innovation

This report investigates the population of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the areas covered by the 39 local enterprise partnerships in England, and estimates the effect on innovation where SMEs are interacting with universities. The report was commissioned by HEFCE from the Enterprise Research Centre (ERC) and builds on earlier work by ERC and HEFCE examining university-business interactions. More...

Update on quality assessment revised operating model and proposed changes to health funding

HEFCE was required by law to undertake a procurement exercise to secure delivery of aspects of the new model, and a number of competitive bids were submitted. The specifications for the contracts were based on the consensus views that were fed back to us in the consultation on the future approaches to quality assessment. More...

DAES - une seconde chance d’obtenir un diplôme et d’accéder aux études supérieures

Avec la mise en place de cette formation, l’Education nationale offre aux personnes non diplômées une seconde chance d’obtenir une certification reconnue et d’accéder aux études supérieures (DAES).
La formation s’adresse aux adultes à partir de 20 ans qui ont quitté la formation initiale depuis au moins deux ans et qui ont une expérience professionnelle d’au moins 12 mois (20 heures hebdomadaires). Aux apprenants qui ont réussi la formation est délivré un diplôme d’accès aux études supérieures. Reconnu équivalent au diplôme de fin d’études secondaires luxembourgeois, il donne également accès aux professions réglementées et aux emplois dans le secteur public.
La formation menant au DAES s’inscrit dans le cadre du lifelong learning. Elle permet aux personnes non diplômées de développer leurs connaissances et compétences pour améliorer leur chances d’embauche, se réorienter ou faire face à de nouveaux défis professionnels. Elle les prépare également à la réalité pédagogique et didactique universitaire, en développant, outre les savoirs disciplinaires, les compétences transversales essentielles pour la poursuite des études: capacités d’analyse, de synthèse et de communication, autonomie dans les apprentissages. Conférence - Mémoires vivantes

Cette conférence organisée les 2 et 3 juin 2016 à Marseille par Lieux Fictifs (link is external) et le laboratoire le Lesa (link is external) de l'Université d'Aix Marseille dressera le bilan de trois années de coopération européenne sur le projet de recherche-création In living memory (link is external). Elle réunira artistes, chercheurs, structures détentrices d'archives, collectivités territoriales, institutions et associations travaillant avec les participants détenus et libres (jeunes, adultes, séniors et étudiants) qui ont participé à ce projet.
Durant ces deux jours, un focus sera également mis sur la mise en oeuvre de processus d'évaluation novateurs susceptibles d'accompagner de tels projets en y associant l'ensemble des acteurs. Voir l'article...

EPALE aide à la construction de projets multipartenariaux : les compétences de base à l'heure du numérique

Notre service de formation continue, basé à l'Université de Lille 1 (Sciences et Technologies), joue un rôle déterminant dans le développement de d'apprentissage tout au long de la vie. Nous avons récemment fusionné avec un autre institut d'éducation permanente (le CUEPP). Suite à la loi de janvier 2015 relative à la réforme de la formation professionnelle, nous avons cherché à enrichir notre offre de formation. L'échange de pratiques avec d'autres insituts européens nous paraissait particulièrement intéressant ; nous avons donc candidaté à un projet Erasmus Plus (partenariats de l'éducation des adultes). Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education addresses societal mission and refugees

The Third Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education (AECHE) took place from 25 to 27 May 2016 at the University of Barcelona in Spain. Under the theme, “Opportunities and Challenges for Arab and European universities in fulfilling their societal mission,” it brought together more than 200 rectors and other academic representatives, mainly from Arab countries and Europe. Belgian university offers refugees 10 places to study EU asylum and migration policy

The French-speaking university of Brussels, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is helping refugees in Europe by offering 10 free places at a summer school on EU immigration and asylum law and policy.
After Leiden University last week, this week we focus on ULB's project as an inspiring practice supporting the integration of refugees. The initiative is part of a wider project supported by an Erasmus+ Jean Monnet grant.
The Odysseus Monnet Network for Immigration and Asylum (OMNIA) project aims to establish a European community of researchers and professors specialised in EU immigration and asylum law and policy. More...
