Have your say on Learning Outcomes / Competences in your country!

The International Tuning Academy (in close cooperation with Lumina Foundation) is implementing a study on the use of learning outcomes/competences in higher education. The study is funded jointly by the European Commission and Lumina Foundation (USA).
As part of this study, surveys are executed in both Europe and the United States to assess the extent to which the Learning outcomes/Competences approach, as the basis for student-centred learning has been implemented, and how it is experienced by the main stakeholders in the process: academic staff, students, student counsellors and management. L’ARFTLV se mobilise pour le SPRO

La Région Poitou-Charentes organise la mise en place du service public régional de l’orientation (SPRO) dans chaque bassin d’emploi, en lien avec les opérateurs. L'objectif est d’offrir aux citoyens un service d'information et de conseil de proximité et les aider à préparer et mettre en œuvre leurs projets de (re)orientation ou d'évolution professionnelles. Des Espaces Régionaux d'Orientation seront mis en place à cette fin dans le cadre de partenariats locaux.

2e Salon national de l'ESS à Niort en octobre

Organisé par la Région Poitou-Charentes, le CNCRES, la CRESS Poitou-Charentes, le 2éme Salon National de l’Economie Sociale et Solidaire se tiendra à Niort, salle de l'Acclameur, les 23 et 24 octobre 2015.

Les Assises régionales de l’orientation de 2015

La loi du 5 Mars 2014 relative à la formation professionnelle, à l’emploi et à la démocratie sociale instaure le Service Public Régional d’Orientation (SPRO). Dans ce cadre, la convention signée entre la Région et l’Etat en février 2015 précise les modalités d’exercice des compétences respectives en matière de coordination des opérateurs de ce service. Enfin, une charte partenariale sur la mise en œuvre, signée par de nombreux partenaires, stipule les objectifs partagés, les valeurs et les engagements des signataires.
Ces documents de cadrage montrent l’importance de l’action partenariale pour structurer et délivrer un service public d’orientation de qualité, gratuit et universel. A la richesse et à la diversité des pratiques professionnelles des opérateurs de l’orientation doivent s’ajouter le développement des coopérations, la cohérence des interventions et le partage de références communes.
Les Assises de l’orientation de 2015 proposent aux partenaires d’aborder diverses questions pour continuer à construire ensemble les conditions de réussite du Service Public Régional de l’Orientation :

Quels sont les éléments utiles à ces constructions entre opérateurs de l’orientation ?
Comment les acteurs du SPRO peuvent-ils structurer en confiance des garanties collectives de service aux usagers ?
Quelles sont les conditions et les organisations partenariales à mobiliser ?

Rankings Reveal Problems with Indonesian Universities

The 2015-16 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings saw some methodological refinements that led to a lot of reshuffling. In Italy the polytechnics in Milan and Turin improved their position dramatically while some venerable universities fell dozens of places in the overall rankings. QS Changes its Ranking Methodology

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the twelfth edition of its World University Rankings. This year there were significant methodological changes that have apparently been under consideration for several months. The first change was to move towards a moderate form of field normalisation of citation data. QS has long been aware that the Scopus database that provides publication and citation data is seriously biased towards the natural sciences and medicine while engineering, the social sciences and the arts and humanities are comparatively underrepresented. USA - College Scorecard Instead of Rating

The Obama administration has definitively abandoned its plan for a ranking or rating of American colleges and universities and for identifying institutions that fail to provide value for money or to equip graduates with the skills needed for the job market. Instead, the US government has launched a searchable website that provides students, parents, administrators, advisors and others with information about institutional characteristics, finances, future salaries and student debt.
